Clive Russell plays Crocus in season two of Netflix’s live action One Piece series, with fellow Scottish actor Callum Kerr as Smoker.

The second series of Netflix’s One Piece adaptation has finally docked, with two Scottish actors aboard for the ride.

Known as One Piece: Into the Grand Line, the second season of the live-action fantasy show comes after a more than two year wait for fans with many eager to dive back into the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates.

One Piece is based on the 1997 manga series by Eiichiro Oda - who serves as an executive producer for the show - and it follows in the footsteps of the anime which first premiered in 1999 and has more than 1,100 episodes to date.

It is highly unlikely that Netflix will ever reach the same number of episodes as the incredibly long anime, but the streaming platform has already confirmed that season three is on the way.

With the journey into the One Piece universe just beginning, a number of new faces are joining the cast including Scottish actors Clive Russell and Callum Kerr.

Clive Russell joins One Piece season 2 cast as Crocus

There is plenty of fresh talent making their One Piece debut in the new episodes as Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the Grand Line; a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn.

As they journey through the unpredictable waters in search of treasure, the group will encounter strange new lands - and new enemies.

While it won’t be smooth sailing, the crew will also be introduced to some fan favourites such as Tony Tony Chopper, a very cute reindeer-boy hybrid, and Laboon, an extremely large island whale who has been left in the care of Crocus.

Played by Fife actor Clive Russell, Crocus is a former doctor who oversees the Twin Cape Lighthouse which guides shops from Reverse Mountain into the Grand Line.

Fans may recognise Russell from his roles in Shetland, Outlander, Dept. Q, The Sandman, and Outlaw King. He is also known for playing Brynden "Blackfish" Tully on Game of Thrones.

Scottish actor Callum Kerr takes on the role of Smoker

After being introduced briefly in the final minutes of the last series, one of Luffy’s oldest adversaries will play a role in season two of One Piece.

Military man Smoker has just one goal in life and that is to catch pirates. Bad news for Luffy and the Straw Hats.

The character is known for his no-nonsense demeanour and constant cigar smoking, with Musselburgh actor Callum Kerr taking on the role in the live-action One Piece adaptation.

Having first rose to fame in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, his casting came as a surprise to some fans. Also known for his modelling and country music, Kerr has appeared in shows such as The Wheel of Time, Virgin River and Monarch.
