Ivor Novello Awards 2026: Here's the full list of winners - including Jacob Alon and Calvin Harris
Fife singer-songwriter Jacob Alon won Best Song Musically and Lyrically and the Rising Star Award at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards.
It was a big night for Scotland at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards, with Scottish music star Jacob Alon among the night’s biggest winners.
The Fife alt-folk star scooped the prize for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for their track Don’t Fall Asleep, beating the likes of Florence and the Machine, Self Esteem and Wolf Alice. Described by judges as “profoundly emotionally honest”, it was praised for its storytelling and emotional resonance.

Alon also took home this year’s Rising Star Award, following the release of their debut album In Limerence last year. They were recognised as one of the UK’s most distinctive new songwriting voices for their “deeply human, emotionally immersive and entirely authentic” lyrics.
It follows the star being named as BBC Music Introducing’s 2025 Artist of the Year and the recipient of the Critics Choice award at this year’s BRIT Awards.

Meanwhile, fellow Scot Calvin Harris received the Music Icon Award as one of the most influential figures in modern music.
Other winners include Rosalía, CMAT, Thom Yorke, and Sam Fender, who was presented the prize for Songwriter of the Year by Elton John - who was himself awarded an Ivors Academy Honour and named the Academy’s first ever president.
