Closing date set to snap up ‘rarely available’ property close to M8 corridor

A closing date has been set for a “rarely available” industrial unit with office accommodation close to the M8 motorway.
The property is located in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, some ten miles east of Glasgow and 35 miles west of Edinburgh, and is said to occupy a “prominent pitch” on the town’s South Caldeen Road.
Adam Honeyman at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors said: “Coatbridge is currently attracting high levels of local investment, with North Lanarkshire Council working with Glasgow City Council to bring 127 new ‘energy efficient’ homes to the town by next year.
“This development will increase footfall in the area and drive interest in nearby businesses. As such, we have received much interest in this rarely available opportunity to purchase standalone industrial/logistics premises in this convenient location.”
The firm said it had set a closing date of noon on August 26 while offers in excess of £1,175,000 are being sought.
The standalone industrial unit with office accommodation extends to 14,670 square feet and the site also includes a secure yard.
A report earlier this year found that industrial and logistics continued to be one of the strongest performing property sectors in Scotland. Ryden’s latest Scottish Property Review noted that demand from logistics operators, manufacturers, trade counters and “last-mile” distribution businesses remained consistently high, although the market continued to face a “chronic” shortage of modern industrial buildings.
Mark Robertson, research partner at Ryden, said: “Scotland’s property markets are beginning to find a bit more stability.”
