Edinburgh-based AI and data services consultancy Inov8 bought by Waracle
“We know that joining forces at this moment will provide a great opportunity to be part of Waracle’s continued growth” – Brian Graham, founder and CEO
Edinburgh-based cloud and data services consultancy Inov8 has been acquired by larger rival Waracle for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2011 by Brian Graham, Inov8 has built up a strong reputation for data management and data consulting within cloud computing infrastructure. It has a team of 28, specialising in cloud and services, as well as artificial intelligence (AI).
The acquisition of the capital consultancy is said to align with Waracle’s growth strategy to increase the percentage of revenue from its data and AI services in 2026.

The latest deal follows Waracle acquiring HackSoft, a software engineering operation based in Sofia, Bulgaria, alongside another strong year of organic growth. The group employs some 300 people across its five offices in Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Sofia.
David Tuck, chief executive of Waracle, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring Inov8 into Waracle. We worked really hard to find a data and AI consultancy that matched not only our ambitions, but also our values and culture.
“Since early 2025, as part of our strategic initiatives, we have focused on growing our data and AI practice. We have made massive strides over the last 18 months, and the talent within Inov8 will help us further our ambitions across both.”
Graham, founder and chief executive of Inov8, said: “Joining Waracle is a fantastic opportunity for Inov8 to demonstrate their depth of skills in data and AI with Waracle's scale and reach across financial services, energy and public sector. We have always strived to deliver innovative solutions to client problems and build truly collaborative relationships as we do.”
He added: “We have spent a lot of time with David and other members of the Waracle leadership team getting to know them and the business. We know that joining forces at this moment will provide a great opportunity to be part of Waracle’s continued growth.”

Waracle said the acquisition would bolster its data and AI credentials, after the strategic appointments of David Low as chief AI officer and James Poulten as head of data and AI in 2025.
Waracle’s turnover grew by more than 30 per cent in 2025 with pre-tax profits hitting almost £2 million. The 2028 vision for the business is to grow from nearly 300 to 500 people working across the UK and Bulgaria.
The company has expertise in digital product development across the financial services, energy, health and public sectors. Its digital products are used by millions of people.
The firm has delivered digital products in collaboration with clients such as People’s Partnership, Roche, SP Energy Networks and Royal London.
In 2024, Waracle acquired Screenmedia, a Glasgow-based design and software engineering agency, on undisclosed terms.
Waracle said at the time that the business was making a “strategic move” to bolster its digital product development and AI offerings. The acquisition allowed the group, which is backed by growth capital investor BGF, to branch into new sectors, adding transportation, retail and the third sector to its primary industries of health, energy and financial services.
