The Scotsman Highlands & Islands Green Energy Conference will see experts gather in Inverness this summer to discuss the journey to net-zero

Green energy progress and achievements in the Highlands and Islands, and the economic potential of renewable power will be among the topics discussed at a major conference this June.

The Scotsman Highlands & Islands Green Energy Conference, headline sponsored by SSEN Transmission, is set to take place at the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness on Thursday, 11 June, where delegates will hear a range of experts’ take on the journey to net-zero.

Scotland has set the ambitious goal of hitting net-zero by 2045, five years ahead of the rest of the UK, which makes it vital to discuss the challenges and opportunities involved now.

Panel sessions on the day will include Progress & Achievements in Green Energy in the Highlands & Islands; Green Skills – Attracting & Retaining a Competent Workforce; Community & Politics, and Unlocking the Economic Potential of Renewable Energy. There will also be a session focusing on The Next Generation – Graduate Apprentices.
