Peter Vardy seals deals to sell Scottish Porsche dealerships and CarMoney venture

“I am extremely proud of the business we have built and the success we have enjoyed with Porsche over the years” – Peter Vardy

Peter Vardy, the automotive business founded in Scotland two decades ago, is selling its remaining two Porsche dealerships.

Van Mossel Automotive Group has entered into an agreement for the proposed acquisition of Peter Vardy Group’s Porsche centres in Perth and Aberdeen.

The transaction would see Van Mossel add the two Porsche dealerships and two service centres to its international network.

Peter Vardy, chief executive of Peter Vardy Global, said: “I am extremely proud of the business we have built and the success we have enjoyed with Porsche over the years. It has been a pleasure to develop two brand-new purpose-built Porsche dealerships in Aberdeen and Perth, and two new service centres to support the expanding number of Porsche cars on the roads today.

“The Porsche brand has an exciting future ahead, our colleagues have new opportunities, and I am confident that the transition to Van Mossel will continue to see the business deliver exceptional customer experiences and a strong financial performance.”

In 2025, a total of 1,623 vehicles were sold through both Porsche locations, comprising 512 new and 1,111 pre-owned Porsche models. The organisation employs 93 staff.

The activities will operate under the umbrella of Van Mossel Automotive International, the international division of Van Mossel Automotive Group, where all activities outside the Benelux region are organised.

Eric Berkhof, chief executive of Van Mossel Automotive Group, said: “With Porsche Centre Perth and Porsche Centre Aberdeen, we are adding two strong Porsche locations to our international network.

“This step fits well with our strategy to further expand our presence in the UK. We look forward to working together with the team in Perth and Aberdeen to further develop the activities and to continue offering Porsche customers in the region a high-quality brand experience.”

Meanwhile, ITOCHU Corporation has completed the acquisition of CarMoney, the car finance brokerage, from Peter Vardy Global following approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, sees CarMoney become part of the ITOCHU Group while continuing to operate as an independent business.

Based in Motherwell, the finance firm aims to grow in the UK and internationally. It supports dealers and a network of franchise partners across the UK. CarMoney was founded in 2016 by Peter Vardy Global and was named the 12th fastest-growing company in Scotland last year.

Vardy said: “Peter Vardy Global focuses on investing in high-growth businesses across technology, fintech and automotive, where our experience and the strength of our teams can help accelerate growth and create long-term value.

“CarMoney is a strong example of that approach, and partnering with ITOCHU provides the scale, capital and international perspective to support the next phase of its development.”

Alongside its commercial ambitions, Peter Vardy Global has reiterated its commitment to charitable giving and social impact. Over the past two years, employees across the group have contributed more than 18,000 volunteering hours, supporting causes including youth education, homelessness, mental health and poverty.

Funding from the Peter Vardy Group has enabled charity partner Gen+ to expand from 48 to 97 schools across 16 Scottish local authorities, reaching 18,000 pupils.
