Plans submitted for more than 100 homes and long-awaited link road in Aberdeen
“This development would deliver lasting benefits for both new residents and the wider west Aberdeen community” – Ross Maclennan, Cala
Plans have been submitted to deliver more than 100 new family homes and a long-awaited £4 million link road in Aberdeen.
Cala Homes’ proposals for the site at Pitfodels, spanning almost ten hectares, would see 103 new homes delivered, comprising 77 private and 26 affordable properties, with a mix of one to five-bedroom properties.
The plans are said to have attracted strong public support during consultation earlier this year and will also deliver a £4m new bridge and link road between Inchgarth Road and North Deeside Road. The proposed development also includes “generous areas of public open space” and enhanced walking and cycling connections to the Deeside Way.

Ross Maclennan, land director at Cala Homes (North), said: “This site has been the subject of long-running discussions, but we believe the time has come to deliver something tangible, high-quality family and affordable homes, and a critical piece of road infrastructure that will benefit the wider region.
“We are grateful to the hundreds of residents who engaged with us through the consultation process. Their feedback has helped to shape these final proposals, which we believe strike the right balance between delivering much-needed housing and respecting the character of Pitfodels.”
The firm said it had carried out extensive pre-application consultation over the summer. More than 220 responses were received, with 75 per cent strongly supportive of the proposals, it added.
Following public feedback, Cala said it had reviewed the original masterplan and “evolved it” to reduce overall density in favour of a “more organic layout with substantial green space”.
If planning permission is granted, Cala aims to be on site in autumn 2026, with the first homes completed by summer 2027. The link road is expected to be completed by summer 2028.
Maclennan added: “Cala Homes was founded in Aberdeen 150 years ago, and we are proud to continue shaping communities in our home city.
“This development would deliver lasting benefits for both new residents and the wider west Aberdeen community.”
Cala celebrated its 150th anniversary this year, having started as the City of Aberdeen Land Association in 1875.
