Powerful data insights lead to £400K contracts, investor backing and acquisition for Citizen Ticket

Citizen Ticket, an event technology provider, has launched an AI-powered tool, believed to be the first of its kind, that gives event organisers immediate access to data-driven insights.

The new product is designed to help organisers evaluate event performance in real time, identify trends, and make faster decisions on audience engagement and return on investment.

Organisers can now ask questions like ‘Who are my best customers’ and 'How should I price my VIP tickets based on the market?’ and receive actionable answers and sophisticated analytics instantly.

The release of the AI tool follows a sustained period of business expansion for the Edinburgh based company. Since it was founded in 2018 with just two employees, it has grown to a 35-strong team in 2025. In the past year alone, it has secured contracts worth up to £400,000, with clients including the Department of Culture Media and Sport, Scottish Parliament, X Fire Concerts and Kelburn Garden Party. In addition, it has secured a US investor, B Dev Ventures, to support its ongoing expansion and last year completed its first company acquisition of TicketSellers and Eventree, in a seven-figure deal.

Citizen Ticket, which also works with clients including the San Francisco Giants, Glastonbury, Greenman festival, End of the road festival, Festival Republic and Superstruct, has designed its new AI powered events tool, ChatCT to give organisers instant access to powerful insights that were once the domain of professional data scientists.

The tool translates the complex world of event data science into intuitive chat-based interactions, with the ability to analyse the data held by event organisers, cross-referenced with data held on the wider Citizen Ticket platform and information pulled from external sources on the internet.

Phil Hayes, Chief Product Officer at Citizen Ticket, said: “Our new AI-powered event tool marks a major milestone for the company and for the industry. By combining cutting-edge technology with real-world event expertise, we’re empowering organizations to create more engaging experiences.

“Event organisers are looking for partners who can help them reimagine how experiences are created, delivered, and measured, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of that transformation. This momentum reflects not only our growth but a larger shift in the industry towards smarter event strategies. Our latest client wins and expansion reflect strong market demand for AI-powered event solutions that deliver measurable business impact.”

Colin Palmer, CTO at Citizen Ticket, added: "Building ChatCT required us to solve complex challenges in natural language processing, real-time data analysis, and predictive modelling. But our goal was to hide that complexity entirely from the user. The result is a tool that feels as natural as texting a colleague, yet delivers the analytical power of an entire data science team.”

The company’s recent acquisition, completed in 2024, expanded its product portfolio and client base, while the US investment provides the capital to accelerate further development and market reach.
