Sports bar in shadow of Stirling Castle to undergo six-figure revamp including new darts zone
Belhaven is also looking for new team members for the revamped pub.
A popular Stirling sports pub is to close for a six-figure refurbishment as its owner looks to “broaden its appeal”.
The Cold Beer Company, which was once the site of the city’s post office, on Murray Place, will temporarily close to the public from next Monday while renovations take place, with the refurbished venue expected to officially reopen its doors during September.
Operator Belhaven said the bar would undergo a full refit inside and out to “broaden appeal to all Stirling pub goers; sports fans, friends and families”.

The sports offer will be enhanced with upgraded TV screens and sound systems throughout the venue. The Cold Beer Company is also set to introduce a new darts area as well as a new pool table layout. The investment will see the installation of new booth seating.
A spokesperson for Belhaven said: “It will remain a popular choice for sports fans, friends and families with a fantastic range of food and drinks menus to suit all occasions and appetites.”
The firm said it was also looking for new team members for the revamped pub, with full and part-time career opportunities available.
Established in 1719, Belhaven Brewery - now owned by Greene King - is the oldest working brewery in Scotland. The firm’s best known offerings include Belhaven Best ale and Belhaven Black stout alongside a range of craft beers and ales, made using fresh water and unique Belhaven yeast at its historic brewery site in Dunbar, East Lothian.
Belhaven also operates more than 100 pubs across Scotland.
