Ten-bay EV charging hub opens as part of transformation of key Edinburgh site

“Edinburgh Park is at an exciting point in its history” – Deepa Chandrasekaran, managing director, Source

A new electric vehicle charging hub has opened at Edinburgh Park as part of a major transformation of the capital business park.

Located on Lochside View in the heart of the park, the ten-bay hub, developed by Source, features 160kW ultra-rapid chargers which can top up an EV in as little as 15 minutes. The site is targeting the thousands of workers commuting daily to major employers such as Lloyds Banking Group, JP Morgan, Diageo and BT.

The charging hub opens as the historic business park is transformed into a new “urban neighbourhood”. Work recently began on The New Village, a residential development that will deliver some 550 new all-electric homes, with a further 864 rental properties also planned. An 8,500-capacity arena is under construction and due to open in 2028.

The EV hub is located next to on-site amenities including a bakery, cafe and restaurant, as well as a padel centre.

Source plans to deliver 300 new ultra-rapid hubs across the UK and Ireland over the next five years, with the Edinburgh Park site representing the company's continued investment in Scottish EV infrastructure.

Deepa Chandrasekaran, managing director at Source, said: “Edinburgh Park is at an exciting point in its history. What started as a business park is becoming a genuine mixed-use neighbourhood, with new homes, a new arena and expanded amenities all on the way.

“Our charging hub is part of that transformation, giving the existing workforce and future residents access to fast, reliable charging they can count on. Whether you're topping up while you work or while you grab a coffee, you can be back on the road in minutes.”

The charging hub offers contactless payment options and 24/7 customer support. The facility is powered by renewable energy, utilising infrastructure from SSE and technology from TotalEnergies.
