Amazon Fire Stick HD ‘saved us' from having to buy a new TV and is less than £20

A streaming stick is a great way to upgrade your TV experience and they’re saving people money and buyers spend less time scrolling
The newest generation Amazon TV Fire Stick HD has been reduced from £59.99 to £19.99 in a limited-time deal on Amazon with buyers saying it’s saving them money on upgrading their TV and helping avoid the cost of additional subscriptions.
Not to be outdone on what is a great price, UK retail giant John Lewis also has the device for £19.99. You can check it out here.
The little gadget allows users to upgrade their TVs, allowing them to have all their favourite apps in one place, including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and many more streaming services though subscription fees may still apply.
The manufacturer says that it is designed for people to spend “less time scrolling” and more time actually enjoying top-quality TV and film. It has a 4.1-star rating after thousands of reviews.
As an alternative, Currys has the Roku HD Streaming Stick, priced at £29.99 so a bit more expensive than the Amazon product but it does have a 4.7-star rating following dozens of reviews.
Shoppers have described the Roku device as “very easy to install”, “good value”, “an inexpensive way to get streaming services on older TVs” and an “absolutely awesome bit of kit”. You can take a closer look at it here.
Back to the latest Amazon Fire Stick HD and a number of happy Amazon shoppers have left positive reviews for the product, one saying: “Such a great, clever device. It's turned my old TVs into smart TVs! Instantly connects to my Alexa profile, connects to the TV via the HDMI port and is then able to control the volume using the TV's pre-existing interface and has everything we need - including saving us money buying a new up-to-date TV.”
Another buyer also said it had saved them money, remarking: “Purchased for a bedroom as it was cheaper than adding Sky multi room. The setup was super easy and for me that’s saying something.
“The available apps are a good variety and so far its been fine. The remote comes with batteries and is easy to use apart from the way you input numbers using the circle. That's a bit of a faff.”
