It’s been nearly a year since Celebrity Traitors hit our television screens becoming one of the most talked-about shows of 2025.
Traitor Alan Carr schemed his way to a memorable victory after somehow outwitting an all-star cast featuring a host of famous faces including Stephen Fry, Celia Imrie, Jonathan Ross and Nick Mohammed.
Now the wait for new episodes is almost over, with series two launching on BBC One at 8pm on Thursday, October 1, and continuing for two weeks.
A total of 21 famous faces will be entering the Traitors Castle in Scotland hoping to win a big cash prize for their nominated charity, including the likes of Richard E. Grant, Ross Kemp, Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, Maya Jama, James Acaster and Michael Sheen.
As we wait to see how they all get on we’re taking a look back at the first series and the moments that made the headlines.
Here are our 10 favourites.

1. The Big Dog Theory
There are always a bewildering array of theories flying around in any game of The Traitors, most of which are, to put it politely, less than helpful. No theory was more talked about than Joe Marler's 'Big Dog Theory', namely that (for some reason), Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross were clearly the leaders of the Traitors and the Faithful. They made a mess of it of course, banishing Faithful Fry and leaving Traitor Ross to happily connive in plain sight for another two days. | Getty Images

2. Alan Carr gives the game away...and still wins
As unlikely victories go, Alan Carr winning the first series of Celebrity Traitors takes some beating. He started how he meant to go on, murdering best pal Paloma Faith simpy because the opportunity presented itself. He then looked guilty as sin for the entire series, culminating in the final when he had to look his rivals in the eyes and declare he was a faithful. It was something he was completely incapable of doing, breaking out into guilty giggles. It didn't matter though, with runners-up David Olusoga and Nick Mohammed completely failing to see what seemed blindingly obvious to everybody else on the planet. | BBC

3. Screaming Celia
Celia Imrie could make a pretty good case for being Celebrity Traitors' MVP. When told to scream down a well during a mission she let out a sound that could wake the dead, leaving her teammates in hysterics. It was even funnier than the look on their faces when she suggested "putting the pussy in" in reference to nursery rhyme 'Ding Dong Bell'. | BBC

4. Jonathan's school of style
When it comes to Traitors' fashion it's usually all about Claudia and her immaculate wardrobe of fingerless gloves, Highland tweed and dream knitwear. In the celebrity version though, Jonathan Ross gave her a real run for her money with a series of increasingly outlandish outfits. There were many to choose from, but the Top Gun getup was hard to beat. | BBC
