It has been more than 15 years since The Great British Bake Off first debuted on our television screens.
The fundamentally wholesome format of the reality baking competition has remained the same since its debut back in 2010. Each year, a group of amateur bakers enter the tent in the hopes of winning the coveted cake stand, tackling challenges set by the pair of judges and receiving emotional support from their fellow contestants and the show’s presenters.
As well as the rotating cast of bakers, there have been a number of changes to the judges and hosts of the show over the years - excluding stalwart Paul Hollywood, who has been dishing out tough love and handshakes since joining Bake Off in 2010.
For seven series, he shaped the show alongside fellow judge Mary Berry, as well as presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. However, Hollywood was the only cast member to remain when Bake Off moved from the BBC to Channel 4 in 2016.
With more shake ups happening this season of Bake Off - including Nigella Lawson’s judging debut - here are all of the presenters and judges from The Great British Bake Off over the years.
9. Matt Lucas
Comedian and actor Matt Lucas took over from Toksvig as a Bake Off presenter from 2020 to 2022. Best known for series such as Little Britain, he co-hosted three series of the show with Fielding. Like his predecessor, however, Lucas struggled to balance his time on the Bake Off with other appearances in shows such as Doctor Who, and roles in films including Wonka (2023) and Gladiator II (2024). | Getty Images
10. Alison Hammond
The final star to join The Great British Bake Off is Alison Hammond, who entered the tent as a presenter in 2023. Having first found fame on Big Brother in 2002, she gained recognition through her work on shows such as This Morning — which she continues to host — and even did a stint as a baker in series three of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up 2 Cancer in 2020. Hammond has now worked on four series of Bake Off alongside Fielding, making her his longest-running co-presenter. | Channel 4 / Love Productions / Patch Dolan
