Edinburgh man Lee Greenan dies in prison after being charged with murder of 44-year-old mother
46-year-old Lee Greenan, accused of murdering Vikki Soloman, has been found dead
A 46-year-old man accused of murdering an Edinburgh mother during a ‘disturbance’ this week has died in prison.
Lee Greenan appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with the murder of 44-year-old Vikki Soloman, who died after sustaining serious injuries at a property in East Craigs on Monday.
He entered no plea and was set to appear in court again next week.
But the Scottish Prison Service published his name on its ‘death in custody’ list, adding that he died at HMP Edinburgh today (July 26).

Police Scotland said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: “Every death, whether in prison custody or in our communities, is a tragedy for all those who knew and supported the individual.
“Following the death of someone in our care, Police Scotland are advised, and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. Fatal Accident Inquiries are held in due course.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55am on Sunday, 26 July, 2026, we were made aware of the death of a 46-year-old man at HMP Edinburgh.
“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Emergency services were called to reports of a disturbance at a property on Craigievar Square in Edinburgh at around 8.45pm on Monday, July 20.
Officers found Ms Soloman with serious injuries and she was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Greenan’s death has now been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
By law a Fatal Accident Inquiry, which will examine the circumstances around the death, must take place.
