Two men arrested after man deliberately mowed down with car in Edinburgh street
Detectives investigating an attempted murder in Edinburgh which saw a man deliberately mowed down by a car have arrested two men.
Emergency services descended on Lochend Drive in the city shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, February 3, after a man was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene.
The 36-year-old victim was left injured in the street and was later taken to hospital for treatment.
Last week, Police Scotland launched an attempted murder investigation and said enquiries to trace the driver of the car were ongoing.

But today police confirmed officers have now arrested two men in connection with the hit and run. A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder bid, while a 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Enquiries remain ongoing.”
Images taken at the scene on February 3 showed police cars blocking either side of Lochend Road, with the residential street having been taped off at both ends.
