In Pictures: Frasers in Edinburgh throughout the years

For many, it spells the end of an era for a part of the West End of the Capital.
Edinburgh’s most iconic department stores could be turned into a new flagship hotel after being put up for sale with a £13.7 million price tag.
The site has been a department store since Maule & Son opened in 1894.

In an exclusive from the Edinburgh Evening News, the sale was been described as a “unique opportunity” to snap up one of the most iconic buildings on Princes Street, which has been home to a Frasers store since 1976.
The sale of the building could see it divided up for a number of different uses in future, including restaurants, bar, office and even residential properties.
We take a look at the iconic building throughout the years at the one constant building on the street.
