KFC expands in Edinburgh with new restaurant in central location creating 60 jobs

The new branch has created 60 jobs.

KFC has expanded its suite of Edinburgh restaurants with a new branch in Fountainbridge.

The US fast food chain opened its newest restaurant in the Fountain Park retail complex on Monday, just days before Christmas.

The fried chicken franchise said the new branch has created 60 new jobs in the area.

The store seats up to 50 customers and serves up KFC’s full menu of fried chicken favourites plus seasonal specials like the Stuffing Tower Burger and Stuffing Stacker Burger.

The branch is the chain’s ninth restaurant in the Scottish capital, joining those on Charlotte Street, Nicolson Street and in the Princes Mall.

KFC Fountain Park will be open from 10:30am to 1am for both dining in and delivery via Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

Staff will conduct daily litter picks to minimise mess in the surrounding area, and surplus food is set to be redistributed across Edinburgh via the food waste charity FareShare.

James Hargreaves, Area Operations Coach at KFC UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve been busy getting your new KFC looking tip-top, and with Christmas just around the corner, we're ready to fire up the fryers at our ninth restaurant in Edinburgh.
