Letter: Words of wisdom

The heated, vituperative and intemperate language used by the protagonists in the ongoing legal fracas (Letters, 18 June) calls to mind the following precepts, which I have tried to live by, namely "Look before you leap"; "Think before you speak" and my mother's "Keep yer tongue atween yer teeth".

But the best, amazingly, is from Spain's General Francisco Franco, to whom the following maxim is attributed "One is the master of what one doesn't say and the slave of what one does".
