Revolution: Two Scottish Revolution bars to close 'with immediate effect' as chain enters administration

The owner of Revolution bars has closed 21 venues with the loss of 591 jobs after entering administration - including two venues in Scotland.

The Revel Collective announced on Tuesday that FTI Consulting have been brought in as administrators for the pub and bar operator, which has struggled in the face of rising costs and declining consumer spending.

The venues not included in the sale of the group’s brands and assets are set to close “with immediate effect”. They include 14 Revolution bars, six Revolucion de Cuba bars and one Peach Pub.

The bar chain’s branch on Renfield Street in Glasgow as well as the Revolucion de Cuba in Aberdeen will both be closed.

However, FTI confirmed two deals which will secure the future of 41 sites and 1,582 jobs.

The Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba brands and assets have been bought by Neos Hospitality Group, which runs the Barbara’s Bier Haus and Bonnie Rogues brands.

Meanwhile, the remaining Peach Pubs business has been bought by newly-formed group Coral Pub Company.
