Quirky Edinburgh bookshop that started life in a Tardis set to open all night
The story of Typewronger Books began in 2017 when founder Tee Hodges returned from selling books abroad.
Staff at an Edinburgh bookshop are preparing to stay open all night in an effort to raise funds for their tax bill.
From Saturday, February 21 to Sunday, February 22, Typewronger Books on Leith Walk will remain open throughout the night.
The shop, which began life selling books out of an old Edinburgh police box - just like Doctor Who’s Tardis - have announced they will be hosting the event to raise funds to pay their tax bill.
On the night, attendees will be able to get their books stamped with their shop logo - with there also being a special time stamp that can prove you were there at 3am.
This will be the first time a bookshop in Edinburgh has run all the way through the night.
Shop founder Tee Hodges will be taking on the 14 hour shift required to keep the lights on from 9pm to 11am the next day.
The social enterprise have said this will set the record for continuous operation of an Edinburgh bookshop at 34 hours.

Typewronger is already Edinburgh’s late night bookshop, being open 11am to 9pm every day of the week.
The story of Typewronger began in 2017 when Tee returned from selling books in London, Paris, and Madrid.
