Cast members from the upcoming fifth season of Bridgerton have been spotted filming in Scotland.

Film crews have taken over Ardverikie House in Kinloch Laggan, with various cast members dressed in Regency era clothing spotted on set.

Luke Thompson, whose character Benedict Bridgerton was in the spotlight last season, has also reportedly been seen filming on location.

Reports state that the crew have been filming what appears to be a wedding while at the estate, which has previously appeared in shows such as Outlander, The Crown and Monarch of the Glen.

According to the Laggan Community Facebook page, filming will be taking place in the area for “a couple of months” and that locals who may be affected should have received a notice about filming.

The post ends: “it is rather exciting have a buzz about our little village.”

Bridgerton season 5 filming hints at new romance for Francesca Bridgerton

For those who haven’t caught up with the most recent series of Bridgerton proceed with caution as there are spoilers ahead.

By the end of last season, Francesca had become a grieving widow following the sudden death of her husband Lord John Stirling, the Earl of Kilmartin.

Played by Hannah Dodd, Francesca’s relationship with her husband’s cousin Michaela Stirling, who is portrayed by Masali Baduza, will be at the heart of the upcoming series of the show.

Following the events of When He Was Wicked by Julia Quinn, parts of the book are set in Scotland which could explain why Netflix have chosen to film in the Highlands.
