Internationally renowned classical Chinese dance spectacular coming to Scotland for a limited season
Don’t miss the world’s most inspiring classical Chinese dance company Shen Yun bringing its spectacular show to Scotland – where, when and all you need to know.
If you haven’t yet experienced this spectacular production, now is your chance to see Shen Yun perform here in Scotland.
Described as more than just a performance, Shen Yun is also a revival of a long-lost classical China-- through stories, legends, vibrant costumes set against breathtaking backdrops, all accompanied by their own full orchestra.
The New York-based company, with top artists from across the world, explodes onto the stage with colour and sound demonstrating true mastery of traditional talents.
A grand production – what can I expect?
Eight companies with more than 500 internationally acclaimed artists stage this breathtaking production each year.
Their classical Chinese dance here becomes poetry in motion, where every gesture tells a story. Exquisite costume designs transport you through past dynasties, while immersive backdrop scenes sweep you to magical realms.
The orchestra blends Eastern and Western instruments with remarkable sophistication, weaving original music throughout a two-hour journey that celebrates millennia of Chinese cultural heritage.
Each performance consists of about 20 pieces, quickly moving from one to the next. Themes range from the delicate elegance of Tang court ladies to the battlefield heroics of valiant generals – transporting you into a world of refinement, beauty and wonder.
Watch the dancers fly and flip across the stage in a classical Chinese style which is said to have inspired gymnastics and acrobatics, as well as ballet and modern dance. The result is a spectacular performance for a memorable experience for all of your family.
Shen Yun’s production is brand new each year – with new choreography, music, songs, costumes, backdrops and stories – for their limited-edition tour opening in January 2026.
