Growing Scottish law firm Robertson Murdie takes over established Leith practice

A fast-growing Scottish law firm determined to ‘do things differently’ has taken over an established Edinburgh practice.
Robertson Murdie was set up in Edinburgh 18 months ago by hugely experienced lawyers Jamie Robertson and David Murdie. As a young and vibrant duo, they are already expanding further in Edinburgh and South Lanarkshire next month, and have just taken over stewardship of Leith practice Cameron Stephen, on the retirement of Cameron and his business partner Fiona Duff.
The good news for Leithers is that it’s business as usual at the well-respected firm, where Cameron and Fiona have handled all aspects of property and private client for decades. Under new branch head, solicitor Lauren Buchanan, the focus will be on delivering the same services the brand is known for, backed up with the Robertson Murdie drive for drive for ‘exceptional customer service and care, always’.
Jamie Robertson, director at Robertson Murdie, said: “Cameron and Fiona have offered the people of Leith a safe pair of hands for many years and are now ready to enjoy their retirement. We wish them well.
“We are delighted to welcome Cameron Stephen into our fold, keeping its brand identity in Leith, together with our own business vision.
“Our new head of office Lauren Buchanan is experienced and friendly, and the customers in Leith are in safe hands.”
Law simplified
As a dynamic, modern firm determined to offer personal quality service without corporate attitudes, the Robertson Murdie ethos is clear. Jamie said: “We had both headed up offices for national law firms where clients sometimes felt they were just numbers. We are different, we really care and offer exceptional standards at all times. We offer straightforward advice and a modern approach to law, in an entirely client centred way.
“Another way we are different is that we don’t charge by the hour – instead there is a fixed fee for all work agreed in advance … no nasty surprises, just quality work with a personal touch.”
