2027 Ryder Cup match-day tickets sold out in under an hour in exclusive window

More than 150,000 people from across Ireland pre-registered for early access

So much for the record cost of tickets for a Ryder Cup on this side of Atlantic deterring fans from being at Adare Manor in Ireland for next year’s centenary edition.

In an exclusive priority window for Irish residents on Friday, daily match-day tickets costing €499 (£433) were sold out in under an hour.

In addition, practice day and weekly tickets also available in the exclusive Irish window sold out in under four hours.

More than 150,000 people from across Ireland had pre-registered for early access, with a limited number of tickets available on a first-come first-served basis from 11am.

“The demand from fans across the island of Ireland has been unprecedented,” said Richard Atkinson, the European Tour Group’s chief Ryder Cup officer. “We know that Irish golf fans are amongst the most enthusiastic in the world and this is yet another reminder of that.”

Those unsuccessful in this window will have a second opportunity to purchase general admission daily tickets in the full public ballot which opens to fans from around the world on 3 June.

Global ticket window opens in June

“We also look forward to the start of June when, in addition to Irish residents getting a second chance, fans from around the world will get their opportunity to be part of this great sporting occasion,” added Atkinson.

The cost of a daily match-day ticket for next year’s match is double the price from Rome in 2023 while it is significantly higher than prices for the 2014 match at Gleneagles.

A ticket on Friday and Saturday for that clash cost £120 before rising to £145 for the Sunday singles while a seven-day season ticket was available for £500.

The 2027 Ryder Cup takes place in County Limerick from 17-19 September. It will be the second time the Ryder Cup has been held in Ireland, following The K Club in 2006.
