So, who will be the next Scotland manager?
After three major tournaments and 2,597 days in charge, head coach Steve Clarke opted to step down upon his side’s failure to make the knockout stages of the World Cup this summer, and now all eyes are on the Scottish FA as they look for his replacement.
Despite signing a four-year contract on the eve of the tournament, the 62-year-old opted to leave for pastures new and allow a fresh face to put his, or her, stamp on the team. But who is the leading favourite to take the reins?

1. Brendan Rodgers - 25/1
Had plenty of success with Celtic as manager across two spells, but departed Parkhead last October and took charge of Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah shortly afterwards. 2. Steven Gerrard - 20/1
Controversial if it happened, but the Liverpool legend does have experience of Scottish football over a three-and-a-half year period at Rangers. Capped 114 times by England, he's been out of work since leaving Al-Ettifaq 18 months ago, and it would a huge shock if he returned to football with the Scotland national team. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

3. Shaun Maloney - 20/1
A well-liked former Scotland player, a highly-rated coach, and experience of international football during his time as assistant manager with Belgium. It ticks lots of boxes, but the bookies don't rate his chances of becoming the next national team boss highly. | Andrew Milligan/PA Wire Photo: Andrew Milligan/PA Wire

4. Martin O'Neill - 16/1
He's managed at international level before with Republic of Ireland, but at 74 years of age, it feels unfathomable that he'd depart Celtic to manage Scotland at this juncture. Nonetheless, he's priced at 16/1. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
