How to watch Rangers v Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup
Rangers and Celtic meet in the first Old Firm fixture of the season at Ibrox on Sunday in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals.
The match will mark the first Glasgow derby in charge for Rangers manager Derek McInnes, who played in the fixture three times in the 1990s, as he goes up against Martin O’Neill, who will be in the dugout for a 32nd time in the Old Firm.
It will also be the first meeting of the two rivals since the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox last season which prompted an independent Scottish FA review due to supporter disorder, with fans of both sides spilling onto the pitch at full-time after Celtic’s penalty shoot-out win.
The fall-out from that means there will be no away supporters inside the ground on Sunday, or for any Old Firm derby this season in an SPFL competition, with the teams set to clash again seven days later at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic have held the upper hand over their rivals in the most recent head-to-heads, winning the aforementioned cup tie in March before coming from behind to claim a 3-1 victory in the post-split derby last season en route to clinching a fifth consecutive league title.
Rangers are looking to win the Premier Sports Cup, also known as the Scottish League Cup, for the first time since season 2023-24 and for only the second time in 16 years.
Celtic, meanwhile, have won the trophy seven times over the past decade but are looking to reclaim it after losing last year’s final 3-1 to St Mirren at Hampden during Wilfried Nancy’s short-lived tenure.
Rangers reached the quarter-finals by defeating St Mirren 5-1 at Ibrox in the previous round while Celtic knocked out Dundee United with a 4-0 victory at Tannadice.
