Genesis Scottish Open set to stay at current venue through to 2030
Deal for East Lothian venue staging Rolex Series event set to be extended
The Renaissance Club in East Lothian remains the preferred choice to stage the Genesis Scottish Open following the title sponsor’s extension through 2030.
The extended deal was announced during this year’s DP World Tour and PGA Tour co-sanctioned event, which has been held at the Dirleton venue since 2019.
The current agreement with the Sarvadi family, the American owners, ends next year but talks are under way to keep the Rolex Series tournament where it is for a bit longer.

“The Renaissance Club has been a brilliant venue and we love going there,” Guy Kinnings, the European Tour Group’s chief executive officer, told The Scotsman. “And Genesis clearly does because a brand as big as them extending through 2030 is really good.
“We are confirmed for 2026 and we are in discussions about a future relationship as it has worked incredibly well ever since the event became co-sanctioned.”
‘The Sarvadis are great hosts’
That happened in 2022, when Xander Schauffle landed the title before Rory McIlroy and Bob MacIntyre won the 2023 and 2024 editions before Chris Gotterup claimed the biggest win of his career this year on Scotland’s Golf Coast.
“The event has been the fifth-strongest field in world golf for the last two years, so it works really well,” added Kinnings. “The Sarvadis are great hosts as well. They have done whatever they can to improve the course and the welcome and the way the players get looked after and everything.
“So, yeah, we are in discussions with them and I would be hopeful that we will be continuing there, but we just have to finalise things.”

Straight after Bob MacIntyre’s win in this year’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which marked the 40 years of the luxury clothing and accessories brand staging a golf event at St Andrews, it was announced that the pro-am is to continue through 2030.
“It is great that the Dunhill Links deal has been extended,” admitted Kinnings. “What Johann Rupert has done as a long-term supporter of global golf, including our tour, has been extraordinary. The longevity of that event is fantastic. It’s amazing and it is a wonderful event.”
