Iran War forces golf event to be dropped from schedule
Tournament in India next week will no longer be co-sanctioned by HotelPlanner Tour
The Iran War has led to a planned HotelPlanner Tour event in India next week being dropped from the schedule for the DP World Tour’s feeder circuit.

The Indorma Ventures Open Golf Championship in Ahmedabad in India is still set to go ahead but no longer as a co-santioned event with the HotelPlanner Tour.

A statement issued on Thursday morning by the HotelPlanner Tour read: "Due to the ongoing military action in the Middle East, HotelPlanner Tour staff and players are currently facing significant travel disruption ahead of next week’s Indorama Ventures Open Golf Championship in Ahmedabad, India , with many scheduled to travel via the Middle East.
“As a result, the decision has been taken with the Professional Golf Tour of India to withdraw the HotelPlanner Tour sanction from this event. The tournament will continue to be staged but will now be sanctioned solely by the Professional Golf Tour of India.
‘This is an evolving situation’
“This is an evolving situation that we will continue to monitor very closely, with assessments made on a tournament-by-tournament basis.”
Scottish duo Calum Fyfe and Rory Franssen were both set to play in next week’s event, with compatriot Liam Johnston sitting second on the reserve list.
A second event in India, the PGTI Open, is taking place the following week at Classic Golf & Country Club in Gurugram.
