Members 'devastated' after trophies are stolen in break-in at Scottish golf club
Stolen items are understood to hold significant sentimental and historical value
Thieves have stolen trophies from a Scottish golf club after a break-in over the weekend.
The theft at Harburn Golf Club in West Lothian took place between 1 February and 2 February.
“Unknown individuals broke into the premises and stole a number of trophies,” stated a post on Facebook by Breaking News & Crime in Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife.

“The stolen items are understood to hold significant sentimental and historical value, representing decades of competition, achievement and memories for club members.
“While their financial value may be limited, the emotional loss to the club and its community is considerable.”
According to the post, a spokesperson for the club said members are “devastated” by the theft.
In a separate post on Scottish Golf Noticeboard on Facebook, Jim Stewart wrote: “It seems to have been a very specific attack, with the only target being our trophy cabinets.
“All cabinets sustained significant damage and around 90 years of history has been stolen with the theft of most of our trophies.”
The incident has been reported to Police Scotland, who are investigating the break-in.
