More big names confirmed for Genesis Scottish Open in East Lothian
Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick back to try and go one better in Rolex Series event
FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour this year, have both been added to another star-studded field for next month’s Genesis Scottish Open.
The English duo have been confirmed for the $9 million Rolex Series event at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian along with Korean star Si Woo Kim.
Fleetwood and Fitzpatrick will both be men on a mission on Scotland’s Golf Coast after being pipped for the title in the past in play-offs. Fleetwood lost out to Aaron Rai in 2020 before Fitzpatrick was denied by Min Woo Lee in extra holes the following year.

Fleetwood has been one of the tournament’s biggest supporters over the years. This will be his 12th appearance, having recorded three top-ten finishes.
“I’ve played well at the Genesis Scottish Open over the years and it’s an event I always enjoy coming back to,” said the world No 7. “It’s in a great spot in the calendar in the week before The Open, so hopefully it’s a memorable fortnight this time around, playing in the home of golf and then on home turf at Royal Birkdale.”
Fitzpatrick, the world No 4, also boasts an impressive Genesis Scottish Open record, with three top tens in 12 appearances. He’s heading into this assignment on a high, with one of his victories on the PGA Tour this year coming alongside his younger brother, Alex, in the Zurich Classic.
“It’s been an enjoyable season so far, winning twice on the PGA Tour and sharing the victory in New Orleans with Alex, and I’m pleased to have the Genesis Scottish Open as part of my upcoming schedule,” said last year’s DP World Tour Championship winner in Dubai. "It’s always a great week, with the players from the DP World Tour and PGA Tour coming together at The Renaissance Club.”
Four-time PGA Tour winner Kim, who is South Korea’s leading player at 18th in the Official World Golf Ranking, will be teeing up for the fifth time in the Genesis Scottish Open.

“It’s exciting to be able to come back to the home of golf each season, especially at an event that combines a bit of both South Korea and Scotland,” he said of the event being sponsored by car brand Genesis. “I can’t wait to return to The Renaissance Club in July.”
The trio have joined world No 1 Scottie Scheffler and second-ranked Rory McIlroy in the line up, as well as defending champion Chris Gotterup and two other recent winners in Xander Schauffele and Bob MacIntyre. McIlroy, too, of course.
Current US Open champion JJ Spaun, newly-crowned US PGA champion Rai, five-time major winner Brooks Koepka and European Ryder Cup star Viktor Hovland have also signed up, with more big names still to come.
