Players sometimes stand with arms crossed in front or behind in a regimented line, or with a hand on their team-mates shoulders. There are sometimes replica kits involved, even the full-kit, other times it is more casual and with a scarf.
No matter what is involved it is always great for nostalgia purposes because down the years, when it comes to a raft of signings at Scottish clubs the success rate is never that high. Which in turn means some players are completely forgotten by fans. Such a high turnover of players will always bring about successes and failures. There are so many reasons why it didn’t work out or why it did.
Often it is part of a summer rebuild or a new manager wanting to put their stamp on the team in the January transfer window.
With that in mind and the January transfer window having just shut in Scotland we decided to look back through the archives for the best, most amusing or most memorable multiple transfer unveilings. The only criteria we set was it had to involve three or more players.
Unfortunately there hasn’t been a notable one in recent seasons, but be sure to get in touch if there are any obvious ones missing, such as the 2005 Hearts unveiling of Rudi Skacel, Roman Bednar, Edgargas Jankauskas et al alongside Geroge Burley.

Real Simon from The Inbetweeners vibe about the haircuts here, especially Richie Foran. Who knew he would be capable of growing such a beard! Also with Terry Butcher, Brian Kerr and Jim Paterson. Photo: SNS Group Bill Murray

6. Hearts - 2005/06
This is the Sunday morning to the Friday night from earlier in the season when George Burley stood with Jullien Brellier, Rudi Skacel, Roman Bednar, Michael Pospisil and Edgaras Jankaukas. Arriving from a shopping trip to Burton: Bruno Aguiar, Mirsad Beslija, Chris Hackett, Jose Goncalves and Juho Makela. Photo: SNS Group Alan Harvey

Look at Jimmy Calderwood. Seems he is delighted with a joke he has just told. It appears Mark Kerr didn't get it. Sam Stewart thought it was okay but it landed well with Gary McDonald, Tommy Wright, Charlie Mulgrew and Bertrand Bossu. Photo: SNS Group Craig Williamson

John Hughes looks underwhelmed with the signings of Danny Galbraith, Patrick Cregg and Kevin McBride. Galbraith would go on to score a winner at Celtic Park. Photo: SNS Group Derek Blair
