Scott Jamieson still in Mauritius mix as Hannah Darling makes LET card move

Scott Jamieson slipped seven shots behind South African Casey Jarvis after the pair had shared the first-round lead in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open - the final event on the DP World Tour in 2025.

But, after signing off his second round with a birdie, the Florida-based Scot is hoping a test he likes at La Réserve Golf Links will allow him to get back in the title battle over the final 36 holes.

After the duo had opened with matching five-under-par 67s, Jarvis kept his foot to the pedal by adding a 65 to open up a two-shot lead while Jamieson had to settle for a 72.

“Maybe a little disappointing,” he admitted of an effort that saw him follow an eagle at the par-5 fifth by running up a double-bogey 6 at the next hole. “But I birdied the last to chalk up a level-par score, so that was good.”

Jamieson’s opening effort contained an impressive eight birdies. “Yeah, it was really windy,” he said of how pleasing that had been. “It is always going to be windy here, but the thing I like about this course is that if you hit good shots, then you are still going to have some good chances on at least five or six holes.

“Then there’s probably five or six other holes that are just extremely tough, so it’s a nice mix. But, yeah, it was a good start.

“Today it was pretty similar tee to green, but I just didn’t score very well, so I couldn’t carry any momentum from one hole to the next through the scoring stretch of holes.”

New DP World Tour card holder Cameron Adam made his second cut in three starts as signed for a second successive 72 to sit on level par, but it was an early exit for Euan Walker after scores of 77-75.

“It’s a different challenge,” said Jamieson of this week’s test. “There’s certainly space out there but, if you miss the space, then you are in big trouble. I like it as I think it rewards good ball-striking tee to green.”
