Significant changes announced in 2027 DP World Tour schedule
Different date for BMW PGA Championship in Ryder Cup year
Some significant changes have been announced for the 2027 DP World Tour schedule, including a new date for the BMW PGA Championship.
Instead of being held the Ryder Cup, as has traditionally been the case since the event at Wentworth moved from May to September, it will be held the week after next year’s contest at Adare Manor. It means the Rolex Series event will take place on 23-26 September.
The Amgen Irish Open, won in record-breaking fashion by Shane Lowry last weekend at Trump International International Golf Links & Hotel at Doonbeg, is also moving to a different week next year.

It will take place at The K Club on 1-4 July - the week before the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.
Other Scottish stops confirmed are The 155th Open at St Andrews on 15-18 July and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and St Andrews on 30 September-3 October,
The Nexo Championship, held for the last two years at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, has not yet been confirmed, though a slot around the time it was held this year has been left free on the schedule.
The Team Cup, which has been used by Luke Donald as part of Europe’s Ryder Cup preparations for the last two contests, is being held again in 2027. It will be played once more at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort on 15-17 January.
In total, the global schedule will feature 42 tournaments in 24 different countries as part of the Race to Dubai.
“The return of historic national Opens in Singapore and Portugal means 17 prestigious national Opens will feature on our 2027 global schedule, along with other popular international championships and events played around the world,” said Guy Kinnings, the DP World Tour’s chief executive.
“As Golf’s Global Tour, we are proud to provide this unique platform for our members to showcase their talents as they compete to put their own name alongside some of the iconic champions of our sport. It is a schedule that offers incredible international opportunities for existing and new players and one which will appeal to our fans globally.
“Our thanks, therefore, once again go to our partners, broadcasters, promoters, federations and partner tours for their support and commitment to the DP World Tour.”
