Alice Cooper will discuss his more than 60 year strong career in Glasgow as part of a book tour for his upcoming memoir, Devil On My Shoulder.

Alice Cooper will come to Glasgow as part of a UK book tour to celebrate his upcoming memoir.

Titled Devil On My Shoulder, the autobiography will see the rock icon revisit his six-decade long career. Published by Ebury Spotlight, it is due out on October 8 with a stop planned for Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre on Monday, October 19.

Cooper’s book tour won’t involve any performances, with stops lined up for Cardiff, Cambridge, London, Brighton, Manchester, Stockton and Wolverhampton. Each night there will be an audience Q&A with a different special guest moderator.

The star is also due to perform in various UK cities with the Hollywood Vampires in August.

The 78-year-old said: “Alice is still on tour around the world today, a proper senile delinquent playing hundreds of gigs every year, while I myself am reformed. And with the benefit of hindsight and a certain maturity, I’d like to describe our journey to hell and back together, because it’s not only rock stars who can lose their way.

“I was born Vincent Damon Furnier but, seduced by my character’s reputation, changed my name legally to Alice Cooper, and in the process lost sight of who I really was.

“The mild-mannered, all-American boy I’d once been became a monster and a mortal danger to himself.”

He continued: “Me and Alice were getting creative with the truth long before the age of fake news. Now, after over 30 records and 60-plus years of fibs and fabrications, I think it’s time to sort the truth from the rumours and lies.”
