Under the Radar: KATERINA

Allow yourself to be swept away by the cinematic imagination of Greek singer-songwriter KATERINA, write Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon

Originally from Greece, KATERINA moved to Scotland in 2021 to study Commercial Music at the University of the West of Scotland and pursue her songwriting career. Blending indie-folk storytelling with a cinematic imagination, she has secured regular support from Phoebe Inglis-Holmes on her BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio nan Gàidheal and Amazing Radio, plus features in The Skinny via PopGirlz.

KATERINA has also performed at Glasgow’s King Tut’s, McChuills, The Hug and Pint and for Sofar Sounds. Thanks to funding from Creative Scotland, her new EP All The Levitating Girls From Mars saw her team up with well-known Glasgow producer Luigi Pasquini. The lead single Princess On The Run is out 31 July, followed by A Reckless Expenditure (21 August), The Smoker (18 September) and All The Levitating Girls From Mars (2 October).

She supports UTR favourite Harry Miles-Watson and The Union at Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow on 31 July and plays Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on 1 August, see https://linktr.ee/katerinamusiclinkss
