Multi-million-pound North Sea boost and jobs security for offshore service provider

“These awards are a reflection of the strength of our long-standing partnerships across the North Sea” – Michael Gordon, North Star

Offshore service provider North Star has secured a multi-million-pound pipeline of North Sea contracts across 17 vessels in its fleet.

The firm said the contracts, comprising new awards and renewals, were secured through a combination of competitive tender processes and contract extensions. They represent some 50 years of combined contract duration.

North Star is a major offshore infrastructure provider with 37 vessels in its fleet, providing safety cover for around 50 offshore installations throughout the North Sea area. The latest contract awards also support 435 seafarers, representing about a quarter of North Star’s offshore workforce.

Across the wider business, the group employs 1,700 people, including onshore teams in Aberdeen and Lowestoft, where it also operates in-house maintenance facilities, as well as an office in Hamburg, Germany.

Chief commercial officer Michael Gordon said: “These awards are a reflection of the strength of our long-standing partnerships across the North Sea and the confidence our clients place in our ability to deliver safe and reliable offshore operations.

“This achievement has only been possible through the commitment and collaboration of our people across the business, both offshore and onshore, working closely with our clients and partners. I want to sincerely thank everyone involved for their professionalism, teamwork, and focus on safety.”

He added: “At its core, our role is to protect lives at sea. The dedication of our crews, supported by our shore-based teams, ensures we continue to meet that responsibility every day in some of the most demanding environments in the world.”
