How to watch St Mirren v Rangers
Rangers will look to apply pressure on Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership when they visit St Mirren on Saturday night.
Derek McInnes’ side are currently four points behind their Old Firm rivals but have a game in hand due to their involvement in last weekend’s Premier Sports Cup semi-finals, where a 1-0 win over Aberdeen booked a Hampden final against Hibs next month.
Celtic missed the chance to move seven points clear with a 2-0 defeat at Falkirk and Rangers will now look to capitalise on the opportunity by closing the gap at the top of the table before the leaders host Kilmarnock on Sunday. Rangers are unbeaten in their last 11 matches but have but have drawn their past two away games in the league, both 2-2 stalemates at Dundee and Hearts.
St Mirren picked up three wins and a draw in their opening four Premiership matches but were unable to sustain their strong start with only one win in their following eight games. The Buddies are eighth in the table on 14 points.
The recent head-to-head record between the teams is weighted heavily in favour of Rangers, who have won 11, drawn four and lost just one of their past 16 league visits to Paisley, a 2-1 defeat in December 2024 under Philippe Clement.
St Mirren have also lost four successive meetings with Rangers in all competitions, including twice already this season - 5-1 in the League Cup and 1-0 in the league.
